Several designers including Ralph Lauren and Kenzo have shown looks that offer a refreshing take on the maxi dress for winter. I just love the ease and versatility of a vintage maxi dress, and adore the way that designers have styled them for colder temperatures by layering with thick sweaters, ponchos, or knee-length coats. You can even juxtapose a summer pattern with a winter sweater for a modern and fashion forward look. Try a military or bohemian style boot on the bottom, and accessorize with statement necklaces and a beanie hat. For my look, I took a vintage dress from my Aunt Jo's collection and layered it up with a simple beige poncho and my fringe boots. I love how it transforms a traditionally summer ensemble right into winter. You could also use a fur coat or vest instead of a sweater if you prefer a more elegant touch.
