I awake to find no peace of mind

(Dress: vintage, Blazer: thrifted, Necklace: Target, Belt: thrifted, Ring: Glitter, Slip: thrifted, Boots: thrifted, Bag: thrifted)

A beautiful floral dress is a wardrobe staple that can be styled and remixed again and again. Depending upon how you wear it, a dress can have no expiration date. It relies on you to make it current and stylish, adding your personal embellishments to bring out its beauty year after year, season after season. This dress has a drop waist and a pseudo Edwardian collar, constructed in a casual cotton fabric and adorned with tiny buttons all the way up the front. To modernize it, I added a contrasting floral blazer (also bringing it from spring to winter), and then accessorized with whimsy jewelry like this fantastical layer necklace from Target and this white rabbit ring from Glitter. The black slip underneath added depth and texture to the look, and helped ground the black from the blazer. Cowboy boots add a little edge, while the black thrifted belt and matching thrifted Coach bag completed the ensemble. I loved the way my outfit mimicked the structure of this Ralph Lauren look from the fall 2010 collection. I highly recommend adding a fitted blazer and boots to a vintage dress to bring it into modern day.
